Watch the Birds

Watch the birds as they watch you,
a blessing to make contact.
Watch the birds as they watch you,
listen to their song, hear their message.
Watch the birds as they watch you,
give thanks to nature for this gift.
We are all one, we are one with the birds,
watch the birds as they watch you.

New Beginnings

New Beginnings.

I know it has been forever since I have blogged but life got a bit real for a minute and I needed some time to heal.

So much has been happening! Over the past few months, many opportunities have arisen. My business partner and I moved our wellness center to a new location, I applied to study Hatha Yoga at an Ashram in The Netherlands next year and I was accepted! Lastly, I just moved out of my mom and dad’s house into my very own place.  Lots of positive change!

My yoga practice has never been so rewarding and I know that after next years course, I will be a completely changed person. I look forward to cutting myself off from all the modern daily ways of living, going on a full detox, body, mind, and soul. I will be living in a dorm with 6-7 other beautiful women walking a similar path, friends will be made and new experiences will pave the way to a more fulfilling life. My ultimate goal would be to teach Yin Yoga, go into Yoga therapy and throw in some lovely Reiki energy to bring a wonderfully healing experience to the client.

My life has taken a very positive turn and all I can say is thank you! In times like these, I once again realize the importance of gratefulness and lacing gratitude into your daily life. I constantly remind myself to be grateful. So my advice to anyone trying to manifest their dream life- Be grateful for what you have right now, even if it isn’t perfect to you, even if it can be better.

Be grateful, by being grateful you are opening the door to receiving more to be grateful for.

Thanks for taking the time to read this! Go on and start making your gratitude lists!

Namaste.

You Create Your Own Happiness

Be Positive.

Positive thinking can change your entire life!

Change your mind.

This is the first step. All you need to do is change your mind.  Instead of only seeing the ugly, choose to see the beauty. When you start training your mind to see only the positive in a situation then you’re leaving space in your life for improvement.  Seeing only positivity will become a habit. Changing your mind is a very powerful step.

Be Grateful

Being grateful is the second step.  You won’t be able to receive more of the good stuff if you are not grateful for the good stuff currently in your life.  List everything you are grateful for and every day go back to the list and add to it. There isn’t a certain amount that you need to be grateful for, as long as your grateful every day. Whatever comes to mind is the right thing to put on the list. The practice of gratitude is another powerful way to guarantee good positive experiences.

Be Compassionate

Start compassion with yourself, for how can you be compassionate towards others if you are not compassionate towards yourself?

Be understanding of your fears and pain. You need to be there for yourself and take care of your pain and suffering. It is okay to feel these feelings but you need to understand that it is better if you let it go so that you may live a happier healthier life.  Everyday work on letting go- Sit down in a quiet space and start breathing deeply, bring your awareness to the breath, set your intention to let go of old hurts and whatever comes to mind first is the first issue you need to take care of. Offer yourself support, say- I see you, I am here for you. I am open to healing you.’ Then as best as you can, let it go. If this problem keeps persisting then just keep letting it go.  Self-healing can take a while if you have been neglecting yourself. Just know that you have started a beautiful journey, a journey of love and compassion.

Once you have started practicing compassion on yourself it will be easier to see other situations with a compassionate heart. Offer other people your compassion and that will cause a wonderful ripple effect of love entering your life.

Creating your happiness

Now comes the fun part. You need to sit down and really think about what brings a smile to your face and makes your heart happy.

What do you want to manifest in your life?

What will bring you better health?

What will inspire you?

When you have the answers to those questions then you can really start building your dream life.

If you aren’t sure what the answers to those questions are, you will still be able to build your dream life, it will just take a bit longer. As you practice and grow, the answers will show themselves to you. Be patient and always understanding of yourself.

Meditation

If you don’t have an exact picture of your happiness then concentrate on the intention of happiness, the picture should start to form itself in meditation. Remember, there are no wrong answers. Whatever comes up for you is what’s right for you. Don’t judge it. Never judge.

Breathe on your happiness,  let it spread through you. Let the happiness warm you like the sun seeping into your skin.

This meditation can be as long as you like.  There are no limits to how much time you should spend on getting to know yourself. These moments are precious, whether it’s 10 minutes or 3 hours. Enjoy this time you are spending with yourself.

Receive your happiness

Once you start practising you will notice small things start to change in your life, this is happiness entering your life. Be open to it, receive the frequencies that the universe is sending you. Let your dream life manifest and most importantly, be grateful for it!

Happy Manifesting my friends!

Keep up the good work and keep on loving the beautiful soul that you are!

Namaste.

I Am You and You Are Me.

WE ARE ONE WITH EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING.

For the world to be a more peaceful place, for the earth to heal and for our hearts to swell with happiness we need to see and understand that we are all one.
I am the tree.
I am the clouds in the sky.
I am the rock.
I am the bug that lives under the rock.
I am the earth.
I am the universe.
And so are you!

When I first learnt that we are all connected and that we are all one, it really helped me deal with my anxiety and anger. If I found myself being mistrusting or upset over something that someone did, I reminded myself that I am that person and it made it so much easier to forgive and forget. Now I let go of all the negative emotions much faster than in the past. I like to think that my health has improved too. I’m having fewer breakdowns and less anxiety.
Let us all strive to remember that if we cause someone else suffering, then we are causing ourselves suffering too.
Something else that this has helped me with is loneliness, if I am the tree then so is the person that I am missing or needing. I walk past the tree when I am in need, I smile at the tree or say hello. If I need a hug then I know that the tree is there to give me the love of the person I need in that moment. This practice also teaches kindness and compassion.
You are the homeless person,
You are the stray dog,
You are the burning forest,
Send love and compassion to those parts of you and on a high vibration level they will feel it and benefit from it.

So if you are ever feeling sad and alone, go outside and speak to the nature around you. The world will respond to your kind words and it will send you love, you just need to be open to receiving it.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. Keep an ear open for my greetings in the wind, or my wave in the form of a flower swaying from side to side.

Namaste.

Anxiety

Dealing with Anxiety.

Today I would like to talk about anxiety. I have been struggling with different mental illnesses for a very long time. It was only when I found Buddhism, reiki, yoga and energy healing that I truly found my self returning slowly to better health.
From time to time I still have relapses but they have become fewer. I would like to share a few of the practices that help me through an anxiety attack.
Anxiety is scary and often looked over as an excuse. I often feel like people are always judging me, that they think I’m lazy but in those times I remind myself to be compassionate towards myself. I will seek out my Buddha statue, I will sit in meditation and feel Buddha’s calming presence and in that time, in that silence I will offer myself compassion. I understand how I feel, I don’t need anyone else’s approval but my own.

Compassion.

Compassion is where it all starts. When you feel yourself drowning in fear, sit quietly and turn to your breath. Breathing in, know that you are breathing in, Breathing out, know that you are breathing out.
If at first you are too wound up to breath through your nose, then breath in through the nose and out through the mouth until you feel you can control your breathing. After a while you will feel your heart rate slow. In this time you need to offer yourself understanding. Understand why you got overwhelmed and know that it’s okay to feel that way. This is not a place of judgment. When you have full understanding for yourself, offer yourself compassion. Self love is a big part of healing. You are a strong, beautiful soul and you deserve all the love and safety in the world. When you believe you deserve it, then the Universe will manifest that reality for you.

We are one.

If I am not in a place that I can sit and meditate and it is a specific person that is making me fear or anxious then I practice knowing that we are connected, I am that person and that person is me. I feel deeply for that persons pain, anger or despair. That simple practice makes me realize that there is nothing to fear of that person because I am that person and I am trustworthy.
When we think like that our vibrations are offering that person love and compassion and at the same time you are offering yourself that love and compassion too because you are acknowledging the connection. This practice always relieves my anxiety.

Nutrition.

A bit more of a long term remedy is nutrition. What do you eat? How much do you eat and why are you eating?
Nutrition is so very important, we need to eat respectfully to ourselves and the earth. Know that when you eat you are taking in the past experiences and  feelings of what you are eating. If you must eat meat then please make sure the animal was kept lovingly and was killed with respect, if the animal was living their life in fear and agony you are taking in those experiences and that can have a long term effect on your mental health.
We must all eat more vegetables and fruit! Plants that grow in the sun, take in Mother Earths love and the rain from Father Sky will nourish you and heal old wounds.
When preparing meals, one must pour love and kindness into the food, you can taste it!
When eating, we mustn’t just think of it as ‘this is necessary to keep me alive.’ you must eat because you love yourself!
If you tend to eat your emotions, then the two previous practices will help you. After a while of non stop self love and respect you wont feel the need to comfort yourself with food.
I’m not telling you to go vegan, I’m just suggesting a pain free, wholesome diet. Look at the foods that agree with you, how do certain foods make you feel? Eliminate what makes you feel bad and only eat what makes you feel good and light.

Eat Mindfully.

When eating we must be mindful. Know that the food is creating your future self. Chew every piece slowly and lovingly. Be thankful, feel the nutrition, feel the elements it grew in and take that energy with respect.
Quiet the mind while you are eating, come home to yourself when you are eating. Eating is a sacred time, you must be in the moment when eating. This practice is so worth it! You will fall in love with food and the art of eating. It will bring you joy!
The first two practices is what helps me get through a moment of anxiety. The nutrition is what helps keep the relapses under control. If our nutrition is good then our brains can make the chemicals it needs to make, to keep us happy and healthy. If we continue to eat what is bad for ourselves then the brain struggles to make those chemicals.
Nutrition is very important.
What’s nice about these practices is that one can make it their own. There is no pressure to do it the way I do it. I am not an expert, these are just the things that have helped me tremendously.
Take what resonates with you and leave what doesn’t.
I send love and light to all who suffer with mental illness and I hope they know that they are not alone.
Love and Light,
Namaste.
