New Beginnings

New Beginnings.

I know it has been forever since I have blogged but life got a bit real for a minute and I needed some time to heal.

So much has been happening! Over the past few months, many opportunities have arisen. My business partner and I moved our wellness center to a new location, I applied to study Hatha Yoga at an Ashram in The Netherlands next year and I was accepted! Lastly, I just moved out of my mom and dad’s house into my very own place.  Lots of positive change!

My yoga practice has never been so rewarding and I know that after next years course, I will be a completely changed person. I look forward to cutting myself off from all the modern daily ways of living, going on a full detox, body, mind, and soul. I will be living in a dorm with 6-7 other beautiful women walking a similar path, friends will be made and new experiences will pave the way to a more fulfilling life. My ultimate goal would be to teach Yin Yoga, go into Yoga therapy and throw in some lovely Reiki energy to bring a wonderfully healing experience to the client.

My life has taken a very positive turn and all I can say is thank you! In times like these, I once again realize the importance of gratefulness and lacing gratitude into your daily life. I constantly remind myself to be grateful. So my advice to anyone trying to manifest their dream life- Be grateful for what you have right now, even if it isn’t perfect to you, even if it can be better.

Be grateful, by being grateful you are opening the door to receiving more to be grateful for.

Anxiety

Dealing with Anxiety.

Today I would like to talk about anxiety. I have been struggling with different mental illnesses for a very long time. It was only when I found Buddhism, reiki, yoga and energy healing that I truly found my self returning slowly to better health. 
From time to time I still have relapses but they have become fewer. I would like to share a few of the practices that help me through an anxiety attack. 
Anxiety is scary and often looked over as an excuse. I often feel like people are always judging me, that they think I’m lazy but in those times I remind myself to be compassionate towards myself. I will seek out my Buddha statue, I will sit in meditation and feel Buddha’s calming presence and in that time, in that silence I will offer myself compassion. I understand how I feel, I don’t need anyone else’s approval but my own. 

Compassion.

Compassion is where it all starts. When you feel yourself drowning in fear, sit quietly and turn to your breath. Breathing in, know that you are breathing in, Breathing out, know that you are breathing out. 
If at first you are too wound up to breath through your nose, then breath in through the nose and out through the mouth until you feel you can control your breathing. After a while you will feel your heart rate slow. In this time you need to offer yourself understanding. Understand why you got overwhelmed and know that it’s okay to feel that way. This is not a place of judgment. When you have full understanding for yourself, offer yourself compassion. Self love is a big part of healing. You are a strong, beautiful soul and you deserve all the love and safety in the world. When you believe you deserve it, then the Universe will manifest that reality for you. 

We are one.

If I am not in a place that I can sit and meditate and it is a specific person that is making me fear or anxious then I practice knowing that we are connected, I am that person and that person is me. I feel deeply for that persons pain, anger or despair. That simple practice makes me realize that there is nothing to fear of that person because I am that person and I am trustworthy. 
When we think like that our vibrations are offering that person love and compassion and at the same time you are offering yourself that love and compassion too because you are acknowledging the connection. This practice always relieves my anxiety. 

Nutrition. 

A bit more of a long term remedy is nutrition. What do you eat? How much do you eat and why are you eating? 
Nutrition is so very important, we need to eat respectfully to ourselves and the earth. Know that when you eat you are taking in the past experiences and  feelings of what you are eating. If you must eat meat then please make sure the animal was kept lovingly and was killed with respect, if the animal was living their life in fear and agony you are taking in those experiences and that can have a long term effect on your mental health. 
We must all eat more vegetables and fruit! Plants that grow in the sun, take in Mother Earths love and the rain from Father Sky will nourish you and heal old wounds. 
When preparing meals, one must pour love and kindness into the food, you can taste it! 
When eating, we mustn’t just think of it as ‘this is necessary to keep me alive.’ you must eat because you love yourself! 
If you tend to eat your emotions, then the two previous practices will help you. After a while of non stop self love and respect you wont feel the need to comfort yourself with food. 
I’m not telling you to go vegan, I’m just suggesting a pain free, wholesome diet. Look at the foods that agree with you, how do certain foods make you feel? Eliminate what makes you feel bad and only eat what makes you feel good and light. 
  

Eat Mindfully. 

When eating we must be mindful. Know that the food is creating your future self. Chew every piece slowly and lovingly. Be thankful, feel the nutrition, feel the elements it grew in and take that energy with respect. 
Quiet the mind while you are eating, come home to yourself when you are eating. Eating is a sacred time, you must be in the moment when eating. This practice is so worth it! You will fall in love with food and the art of eating. It will bring you joy! 
The first two practices is what helps me get through a moment of anxiety. The nutrition is what helps keep the relapses under control. If our nutrition is good then our brains can make the chemicals it needs to make, to keep us happy and healthy. If we continue to eat what is bad for ourselves then the brain struggles to make those chemicals. 
Nutrition is very important.
What’s nice about these practices is that one can make it their own. There is no pressure to do it the way I do it. I am not an expert, these are just the things that have helped me tremendously. 
Take what resonates with you and leave what doesn’t.

Let’s Be Honest.

Find your truth.

I have been doing a  lot of soul searching over the past few months and recently I fell into a bit of a slump. Today I finally got back to work, back to my office and back to my shrine to recharge and put myself together again. Tomorrow I’m starting a brand new yoga challenge and I’m looking forward to expanding my personal practice. 
Over the last few months, I have become a Reiki practitioner and crystal healer, I opened my practice and have been spreading loving energy out to the world everyday. I have met new people and built new friendships. I have been practicing yoga for almost 9 months now and am planning to study it further to become an instructor and teacher. I have grown so much and I am so grateful. 
In this time spent with myself and my practices I have found my truth and that is what I would like to write about today. I believe in the unity of all humanity and that we need to work together to save this beautiful planet we live on called Earth. Earth is my mother and I am an Earth Warrior. That is my truth. 💓🌻🌲
I encourage you to sit in silence everyday with the intention of finding your truth, who you really are will come to light and you will be that much closer to being enlightened. Meditation is the best way to be with yourself and get to know yourself. Go home to yourself everyday, offer yourself love and kindness, be compassionate towards your thoughts and feelings, BREATH, know that YOU ARE ENOUGH! With these practices you will become more aware of yourself, your thoughts and intentions- your truth will speak to you and then you can start growing and take action! 

Know the truth and speak the truth. 

Let us all be honest with ourselves and the people surrounding us. 
Too many lies are told, too many lies are depicted in our lives every day. The media lies, the people governing us lie, our parents lie and therefore we lie. 
The time to speak the truth is now, let us dig deep and explore our truth. We were born to live freely, openly and truthfully. As humanity we are capable of so much! We just need to be open and awakened to the truth. 
Our truths may not all sound the same but they are based in the same thing, which is love and compassion. We are all different, some of us may be healers, earth warriors, fixers, protectors, parents or leaders but we must understand that our truths are made from love and that we must speak this truth with love in our hearts, we must do what we do best with love in our hearts.  

Practice your truth. 

Once you know your truth and you have started to spread it, you must never stop practicing it. The more you practice your truth the more you will find. You are getting to know yourself, your true self and that is beautiful. 
You are made up of past life and generational experiences, find the truth laced in all of it. You will find it in every action and thought. It has been trying to tell you for years and years, now you have heard your truth- find the rest of it, explore it and have fun with it! 

Never forget to keep spreading it! 

 

Help people to find themselves, find their truths and hopefully we can begin to create a world full of open, honest and loving people.

Let’s Be Happy!

Start your day with a smile on your face!

It is so important to start out on the right foot, it sets the tone for the rest of the day. That’s why we should all make it a priority to be happy and grateful in the mornings. 
You have woken up to a new day! You are still alive on this beautiful planet! We need to rejoice, send good vibrations out into the universe so that you can attract more wonderful things to be grateful for through out your day! 😄
I often say to people, that the minute your feet hit the ground in the mornings take a deep breath, smile and think of all the things you are grateful for. Start out by at least naming ten things you are grateful for. Your day will go smoother, you will feel lighter and you will be making space for more to enter your life. Follow your breath when thinking of the things you are grateful for, breathing in think of the item or person you are grateful for, breathing out say thank you. Really feel the gratitude, project that gratitude outwards into the world and take note on how that makes you feel. When I do this I instantly feel happy! I can’t keep the smile from spreading on my face! I love how the gratitude makes me feel. 

We all need grounding, most of us are always in our head thinking too much. When we practice gratitude we manifest more things to be grateful for, if we are so busy in our heads and we aren’t grounded then we wont be able to enjoy the things that the universe gives us. So, I like to ground myself after any kind of self growth practice. After you have listed your ten things your are most grateful for, after you’ve felt it and projected it then you need to ground it. You can easily ground yourself by using your five senses. 
Look around and list 5 things you see.
                                4 things you feel
                                3 things you hear
                                2 things you smell
                                           and
                                1 thing you taste
This is a very simple and doable exercise. It immediately brings you back to the moment and grounds you. Make this exercise even more powerful by following your breath while acknowledging each sense.   
Let us remember that above all we are worthy of what makes us happy. We do deserve to have beauty in our lives. Let us all be more grateful, more gentle and more loving towards ourselves and others.
